Diablo 4 Paragon is a role-playing game that takes it to a whole new level. This is especially true when players reach level 50.

The Paragon Board is a key feature in Diablo 4, allowing players to make important decisions about how they distribute points. This can have a significant impact on their character’s design.

What is the Paragon Board?

What is the Paragon Board?

The Paragon Board is a complex grid in Diablo 4, with six different node types. It comes into play when a character reaches level 50. The Paragon Board is a way for players to advance their characters after a campaign, and offers a variety of options. The Paragon Board structure is impressive, with eight different Paragon Boards for each class, allowing players to tailor their progression to their own playstyles.

The Board Preview Mode also provides an interactive experience, allowing players to rotate a board, optimize their path, and customize their character’s build. Diablo 4 Paragon allows players to strategize and strengthen their characters.

Unlocking the Paragon System

After reaching the formidable level of 50, players can switch from the regular system to Paragon. Players start earning Paragon Points after reaching this milestone. These points are awarded every 25% of the level, i.e. 4 Paragon points per level after 50. Paragon points can be earned by leveling up, completing Renown, and finding Altars of Lilith.

The Renown system was designed to give players a feeling of accomplishment. Each region of Sanctuary grants an additional four Paragon points when they reach the final milestone. These points can total 225 if you meet all the objectives.

The developers have also worked to make each bit of gameplay meaningful even if it is played for a shorter period. The Paragon System’s finite nature means that a maximum of 220 Paragon Points can be earned and allocated. This is the cap for the Paragon Board System.

Paragon Nodes

The Paragon Board begins with three different rarities, namely Common, Magic and Rare. As players progress they reach the end a Paragon Board which unlocks an unique node known as the Gate node. This node is a bridge that connects another board to the passive tree. It enhances the character’s build.

Each Diablo 4 Class has its own unique starting board that contains different node types. Normal Nodes are the foundational links and boost an attribute (Strength or Intelligence or Willpower or Dexterity by +5). Magic Nodes are a step above, providing higher amounts of Attributes and power affixes.

Rare Nodes combine 2 Attributes with a Bonus. However, they require a minimum Attribute threshold in order to unlock. The Legendary Nodes are the last to be unlocked. They determine the overall theme of the board and connect one Paragon Board with another.

Glyph Sockets & Glyphs

Glyph Sockets & Glyphs

Glyphs are powerful enhancements that become available after level 50. They can be placed into a Glyph Socket, which is located on a Paragon Board. These Glyphs are designed to empower nodes around the Glyph Socket, or gain additional bonuses depending on the nodes in the vicinity. Glyphs can be used as passives to add or modify Paragon nodes nearby, thereby enhancing the build’s power.

Glyphs are available in different rarities. Magic Glyphs start with a 2 radius, while Rare Glyphs begin with a 3 radius. These Glyphs can also be categorized as Attribute Glyphs. Rarity Glyphs and Stat Magnitude Glyphs. These Glyphs can be obtained by capturing fallen enemies. Areas with a high concentration of enemies are good places to farm.

Glyphs are upgraded at the end of Nightmare Dungeons to increase their levels and effects. Each Glyph level increases the effect of each Glyph and increases its effective radius by 1 node. Glyphs are only upgradeable on the altar that appears when you complete a Nightmare Dungeon.

Conclusion

The Paragon Board is a new system in Diablo 4, designed to enhance character customization and development beyond the traditional leveling system. Every decision made in the Paragon system, whether it’s acquiring Paragon points, selecting Paragon Boards or strategically allocating these points to various nodes and glyphs, affects gameplay.

The Paragon Board is not only a post-campaign progress system, but it also adds an additional strategic layer to Diablo 4’s character building process. Understanding and mastering the Paragon Board is therefore a crucial aspect of enhancing the Diablo 4 gaming experience.
