Salvaging can be a great way to find Veiled Crystals
Understanding the process of salvaging rare quality equipment is the first step in unraveling the mystery of how you can obtain Veiled crystals in Diablo 4. You’ll encounter Blacksmiths in the game’s labyrinth. Zivek is a crucial character who can help you salvage gear. He’s located in Kyovashad, in the Fractured Peaks.
When approaching a Blacksmith you should pay attention to the Salvage tab. A pickaxe icon will greet and invite you to click on your treasure trove, which includes Rare weapons, armor and jewelry, to be salvaged. If you prefer a more streamlined approach, select the Rare button from the Salvage by Item Quality Menu. This will take you directly to the salvage procedure.
It’s important to know the type of gear you need to be successful in your quest to collect Veiled Crystals. Diablo 4 offers a wide range of gear options, but the Rare gear with its distinctive yellow color is what gives you the best chance to obtain Veiled Crystals.
Resist the temptation to salvage Regular or Magic equipment hoping for Veiled Crystals. These grey and blue-tier gear, while appealing, will only give you rawhide and iron chunks. To increase your chances of obtaining Veiled Crystals, stick to gear that is Rare-tier or above.

After completing your salvage operation you can access the newly acquired items in the Salvaged Materials Box. Here you can find Veiled Crystals and Iron Chunks.
Don’t get discouraged if you don’t find Veiled Crystals every time. Diablo 4 does not guarantee Veiled Crystals when salvaging rare equipment, so there is room for surprises such as iron, rawhide or superior leather.
The next exciting step is to use your Veiled crystals judiciously. Veiled crystals are most exciting when you upgrade your armor, weapons, and jewelry. Keep in mind that each item can only be upgraded five times. Veiled Crystals are available at the third, fourth, and fifth upgrade levels.
Jewelry is a little different when it comes to upgrading. You’ll need to go to a jeweler to upgrade jewelry, unlike weapons and armor which can be upgraded at a blacksmith. The Jeweler’s help is only available after completing a specific side quest.
