Obtaining Aspects in Diablo 4
Venturing into the sinister dungeons in Diablo 4 brings a multitude of rewards, one of them being Aspects. Not only do these dungeons form an integral part of the story progression, but they also offer valuable opportunities to obtain Aspects. These can considerably enhance your character’s abilities, thus creating a more immersive and strategic gaming experience.
For traditionalists who love vanquishing demons, engaging in combat also paves the path to obtaining Aspects. These Aspects might also appear as random drops from the defeated enemies – treasures waiting to be harnessed by worthy adventurers. Moreover, upgraded versions of these Aspects can be found tied to other in-game items, adding another layer of intrigue to the overall gameplay.
Different Types of Aspects
Broadly, Aspects in Diablo 4 can be categorized into three types: Codex Aspects, Legendary Aspects, and Extracted Aspects.
Codex Aspects offer an interesting feature – they can be imprinted on weapons, armor, and jewelry multiple times as needed. It involves the use of Gold and Veiled Crystals, which can be obtained by salvaging rare or legendary items at a Blacksmith. However, Codex Aspects always roll their effects as low as possible when imprinted, hence extracted Aspects might deliver stronger results.
Legendary Aspects, on the other hand, are tied to legendary items, holding their maximum potential. These Aspects are not just used once, but are consumed upon imprinting, delivering the full force of their enhancing effects on the gear. However, it’s important to remember that Legendary Aspects of the same effect don’t stack when imprinted on equipment.
Lastly, Extracted Aspects have information about the item types they can be imprinted on. Their extraction involves removing them from a piece of gear, a process that takes place at The Occultist, a particular location within the game. Once extracted, these Aspects can be used on different pieces of gear, providing bonuses without affecting other gear stats.
Imprinting Aspects
Imprinting is a fascinating process, bringing together your gear and chosen Aspect in a unique combination. Visit the Occultist in Diablo 4 to start imprinting – a process that requires enough gold and Veiled Crystals. Interestingly, Aspects do not affect the other stats of the gear when imprinted, only adding their unique traits. It’s worth noting that the same Aspect doesn’t stack when imprinted on different equipment pieces, making your Aspects selection strategic.
Managing Aspects
With Diablo 4’s extensive Aspects list, managing these can be challenging. But worry not! Extracted Aspects can be found in the “Aspects” tab of the inventory, making them easy to locate.
If your Aspect Inventory is full, the extracted Aspect can be transferred to your Stash. But remember, using Aspects that belong to another class is also possible, which can come in handy when you start a new character.
Previewing and Equipping Gear with Aspects
Before going ahead and imprinting an Aspect on your gear, Diablo 4 gives you an option to preview the new effect added by the Aspect. This feature helps players make an informed decision about their choice of Aspects.
Equipping an aspect requires enough gold and Veiled Crystals, and the Aspects are class-specific, meaning they can only be applied to any compatible gear for your class. For instance, a Rogue can imprint the Aspect of Ancestral Force into a Bow and equip it.
