Here are the best 3DS games We recommend:
Animal Crossing: New Leaf
Animal Crossing New Leaf is the best game in the series, even before the Welcome Amiibo Update! You assume the role of Mayor and begin your work as soon as a you step off the train into a mysterious animal-populated village.
There are 17 different types of fruit trees and a general store that can be upgraded by Timmy and Tommy. The street is filled with shops and amenities. New Horizons removed many of New Leaf’s features, so we’re forced to go back to 3DS and continue Mayoring while enjoying Dr Shrunk’s comedy shows or Harriet’s hair salon.
The Legend of Zelda – A Link Between Worlds
A Link Between Worlds was released at a time that the Zelda series was in a slump. Majora’s Mask, Ocarina of Time, and other titles were also available on the same platform. However, they were remakes of older classics. ).
Skyward Sword on the Wii had divided fans because of its newfangled motion control gameplay. A Link Between Worlds, however, brought everyone back to the positive. The game has a cute art style, almost chibi like, and a fun narrative that made fans fall in love with Link’s and Zelda’s adventures again.
Kid Icarus Uprising
Even long-time Nintendo fans may not know what Kid Icarus as a series is. Despite the fact that the first release was a critical success, only three Kid Icarus games have been released. Uprising on the 3DS is one of the best games that you can play.
The controls may have been criticized, but the visuals, voice acting and cast more than make up for it. Uprising had an excellent online multiplayer mode – a rarity for older handheld games. While we wait for a Kid Switch title, we will probably go back to Uprising just for the sake of nostalgia.
Nintendogs + Cats
This choice doesn’t need to be on the list, does it? Nintendogs + Cats was a sequel to the DS launch title that had been a huge success. It added new puppies and kittens. It also uses the 3DS’s three-dimensional capabilities to make your fuzzy friend even more realistic. Did you know it also uses facial detection? How adorable is it that your puppies will recognize your face and come up to you when they recognise you? !
Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth
Persona Q2 New Cinema Labyrinth was released on the 3DS long before the Phantom Thieves were available on the Switch. It is an adorable chibi-styled RPG featuring the cast from Personas 3, 4 and 5. The story follows Joker, and his friends on a trip to Mementos where they are transported into a movie (hence the cinema title) and must find a way out.
Attack of the Friday Monsters
You may be happy that Attack of the Friday Monsters has made it onto this list. Others will be wondering ‘what is that?’. If you’re in the 2nd part, you should play it immediately. This game was only ever released for the 3DS, and is still available. This sweet little adventure game will have you exploring your new home, as Sohta while fighting your new neighbours and friends in card duels. You must also figure out the strange monsters that appear every Friday.
Tomodachi Life
Tomodachi Life was one of Nintendo’s odder creations. It was never followed up but it did introduce a new type of game to those who own a 3DS. You create your own Mii characters and follow their daily lives as they make new friends, find jobs, and start a family. Tomodachi Life, with its silly minigames and odd events that pop up in each Mii’s life, has become a hotbed for meme activity.
Pokemon Ultra Sun & Moon
Pokemon USUM is the best entry in the franchise. No, I will not be taking any questions. The Ultra version of Alola added so much to the story and the storyline. The lush areas around each town and the music of the Hawaiian locations are delightful. The Z-Moves of Generation Seven and the totem Pokemon boss battles added a new twist to the traditional turn-based type-matching formula. They also complemented the brand-new addition of regional forms for some ‘Mons, such as Alolan Raichu.
Super Mario 3D Land
Super Mario 3D Land is the best of the many adventures Mario and his friends have had on the 3DS. Mario embarks on a quest to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser, who has kidnapped her yet again. Super Mario 3D Land has a very creative level design, and introduces new items and gimmicks to help Mario along the way.
Metroid: Samus Returns
Samus Returns, while technically a remake, is a lot more than a Game Boy remake. It has new features, including completely redone graphics and a new control system. The 3DS version introduced new mechanics, such as Samus’ ability to counterattack and her ability to aim in any directions instead of a fixed direction. This is a must-have for anyone who enjoys beating back Metroids.
